The name Lutheran comes from the German 16th century Reformer, Martin Luther, who rediscovered the biblical message that God gives salvation by His grace, through faith in Christ (rather than through faith in ourselves or anything other than Jesus).
We celebrate the certainty that we have a place in Heaven as a free gift of love to us, purchased by God through the death and resurrection of His eternal Son.
